Paul was raised in Minnesota, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia during his senior year of high school.  the University of Tennessee (B.B. Business) and Emory Law School followed.  Paul and Holly met, and two years later, married in May of 1983.  Holly is a Florida girl, who had moved to Atlanta to follow what became, a very successful commercial, then residential real estate career.  Holly has changed professional directions, and i s now a Special Education teacher at Northview High School.

Paul and Holly were blessed with two girls, Lola (High School Senior) and Thea (High School Freshman). Both girls are successful students, and are involved in extra-curricular activites ranging from Cheerleading, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis and Fencing Teams.  The entire family loves camping and hiking, most recently in the mountains of western North Carolina.

Clients are comforted to learn that Paul has always been a person who rises to accept any challenge, and has the patience and temperament to complete the job, no matter how long it takes.  Early examples of such was the project to personally build and successfully fly to altitude, a two person helicopter and design and build from the ground up, (mostly on nights an weekends) a three story, three bedroom lake home the family now loves to use.

Community Service

Answering the call to be the first Attorney Coach for a new High School Mock Trial team, which produced three student award winners in the first season, solving a community access problem by designing and building a full weight bearing “covered bridge”, years of service as a recreation league soccer and basketball coach and serving on multiple Home and Property Owners governing Boards, are examples of Paul’s commitment to community service.

Other Personal and Business Activities

An avid tennis player, Paul has “Captained: ALTA teams to several Division Championships, and two City Championships.  He has also “brought his tools” to several Habitat for Humanity projects, and has been a multi-year sponsor of the St. Ives Pro Am Charity Tennis Tournament.  Paul also serves as Managing Partner, of Bear lake Partners, LLC, an investment group he organized, which is active in the Western North Carolina Resort Community of Bear Lake Preserve, located on Bear Creek Lake, near Cashiers and Sylva, North Carolina.
